Narrowing The Idea's Down;

Through creating the brainstorm of my initial ideas, I feel it would be interesting to reserch into a particular performer and their work like Johnny Depp.
But through looking at the idea of Political context, I feel that I could relate to the topic more, allowing me to be more interested in the research. The terror alert is an ongoing problem today, meaning that social situations happening now could still affect and change the way I approach my research.

First Small Scale Lesson: 3rd November 2010

Today we were introduced to what we are expected to achieve in the small scale project. We have 8 critical approaches to choose from;

1) Star/Performer

2)Genre

3) Auteur

4) Social and Political Context

5) Gender

6) Ethnicity

7) Institution

8) Technology

At first glance I came up with a few idea's in which route I could take my small scale research to. An idea which first came up was looking into social and political contexts with the terrorists attacks (9/11 etc.) Another was looking at female directors and their effect on filmmaking (Kathryn Bigelow with The Hurt Locker.) To not tie myself down to these idea's I'll research into all the topics and see what other's many interest me.
